There are moments in fashion when everything comes together seamlessly—vision, artistry, and the right team. Our recent photo shoot for the Rui Ke Denim 2025 Collection was exactly that kind of moment. The shoot was brought to life by two incredible talents: photographer John Benitez and model Keundre Hawkins. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with John for eight years. We came up in the industry together, honing our crafts and pushing boundaries. His eye for detail and ability to capture the essence of a piece never ceases to amaze me. With every shot, he brings a level of artistry that transforms clothing into a narrative.
Keundre, on the other hand, is someone I first worked with during my freelance days as a wardrobe stylist at Neiman Marcus. Seeing him evolve in his career has been inspiring, and having him bring his energy and presence to this shoot was nothing short of exceptional. He embodies the spirit of Rui Ke Denim—bold, effortless, and undeniably stylish.
From the moment we stepped on set, everything aligned. The raw textures of the denim, the movement, the lighting—it all told a story of craftsmanship and exclusivity, the very ethos of Obscurant Fashion. Watching these pieces come alive through John’s lens and Keundre’s dynamic presence reminded me why I do what I do.
