Obscurant began from a simple frustration. I spent years working as a wardrobe stylist, constantly searching for garments that expressed the ideas I wanted to wear, but I rarely found them. Eventually, it became easier to make the clothing myself than to keep searching for someone else to create it.

That pursuit led me beyond garment design and into the fabric itself. I became increasingly interested in how textiles could be transformed through construction rather than decoration. Years of experimentation eventually produced what is now known as the Rui Kè method—a proprietary process that has become the house code of Obscurant. It is more than a visual language; it represents the belief that craftsmanship should leave a visible record of the maker’s hand.

Obscurant is shaped by many influences: studying fashion design in the early 2000s, working in leather manufacturing, years spent styling clothing for clients, and a lifelong participation in counterculture and independent design. Those experiences formed a perspective that values process over spectacle and longevity over novelty.

Today, that perspective continues to evolve as the brand expands into womenswear. Rather than starting over, it is an opportunity to reinterpret the same ideas through a new silhouette and a broader conversation about form, construction, and craftsmanship.

Obscurant exists because I wanted to build the kind of fashion house I was always looking for but could never find.
